The West Ham Bond Scheme.
Did anyone actually purchase one and if so did it yield a return?

I remember the protest with the fella walking into the centre circle with the corner flag.

An Arsenal mate of mine purchased one of theirs and sold it a few years later for a handsome profit (£3k)

Imagine if everyone had bought one, we'd have had a new ground, with no debt and still be at UP.

The corner flag moment will go down in history. One of those 'I was there moments' (shows how few big moments in history.we have)
Great solidarity and when fanzines were running the show like the first social media.
The waving of red cards etc..felt like we really were a family, all together and with same belief.
The 2 muppets talk now about being intimidated or the burnley game protests but they are NOTHING compared to the intimidation that the Cearns family suffered and rightly so.
Loved those days.
More of the same now would be in order but there is too many outlets with differing opinions nowadays.

Oh and last season I met someone who had bought one and still had it I believe? Something like that anyway.

I still have the OLAS fanzine with that corner flag pic on the front cover, they were as you say a great source of information speculation and gallows humour back in the days before the internet and social media.
First one I bought was a photocopied OTT but they started to get a bit glossy as the years progressed and even doubled as an alternative match programme.

The main thing I remember then there was deffo' no static protests... I don't think that would have worked then??

2 of my friends have one and so even though they're not regular away followers, are always guaranteed a ticket because of them.

Both fairly loaded so probably not ever thought about selling them.

I know Bob the Cap (RIP) had one as well and surely the likes of One Iron got involved.

I would have if I weren't a skint teenager at the time.

I still have my red card from the protests.

It was a great time when most were united, yet even back then you still had a pro board minority, probably the same cunts whacking the protester during the Burnley game

Re: The West Ham Bond Scheme.
Nope, but I enjoyed the protests. Proper fans activism. Let's hope some more of it will help to address this latest shower of shit we're living through.

West Ham fans are always better in adversity whether it be the Bond protest, the Chicken run seats palaver or Villa Park in '91.
All proper West Ham occasions.
